Dr. Alana Kennedy-Nasser, widely known as Dr. Alana, is the visionary founder of PurePediatrics, where she is redefining pediatric care through personalized medicine, integrative wellness, and a proactive approach to prevention. With extensive experience spanning from caring for healthy newborns to managing the most complex and chronically ill children, Dr. Alana is committed to providing exceptional, tailored care for each patient.
Dr. Alana earned her BA in Broadcast Journalism from Southern Methodist University and her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Tulane University and a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital. Double board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, her expertise lies in prevention and early disease recognition, aligning with her dedication to keeping children healthy and thriving.
Before founding PurePediatrics, Dr. Alana served as an Assistant Professor on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Texas Children’s Hospital for five years. This role deepened her understanding of caring for immunocompromised and chronically ill children, solidifying her belief in the power of prevention and holistic care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Alana is an accomplished athlete, having completed the Boston Marathon and multiple Ironman triathlons, including the prestigious Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. She is also a pilates enthusiast and a proud mother to four children who continue to inspire her every day. Alongside her husband, Dr. Dean Nasser, who leads the adult concierge practice PureLife MD, Dr. Alana has called Houston home for nearly two decades.
With over 15 publications to her name, Dr. Alana’s contributions to pediatric medicine have been widely recognized. She has been named a Texas Rising Star and a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine for numerous consecutive years.

Dr. Kelly Hodges is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with a passion for preventive and personalized medicine. Originally from the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii, Dr. Kelly earned her medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center before moving to Houston to complete her Pediatrics Residency at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Following her residency, Dr. Kelly spent three years practicing medicine as a medical missionary in Malawi, Africa. During this time, she made a profound impact by improving children’s nutrition, introducing CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) treatment for premature and sick infants, and caring for underserved children with epilepsy. Her experiences abroad have shaped her holistic and compassionate approach to pediatric care.
Dr. Kelly is deeply involved in her community as a member of Rice Temple Baptist Church, where she also serves as chair of the church’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program. She and her husband, Donald, are proud parents to three energetic boys and a precious daughter. In her free time, Dr. Kelly enjoys gardening vegetables, with dreams of cultivating and enjoying her own organic produce.
As a dedicated Christian, Dr. Kelly strives to honor God through her practice of medicine, bringing warmth, empathy, and expertise to every family she serves.
Dr. Alexander Injac is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with over 20 years of experience caring for children in the Houston area. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Dr. Alex began his medical education at the University of Vienna in Austria before moving to the United States, where he earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School, after which he made Houston his home and has been dedicated to pediatric care ever since.
Dr. Alex has a special interest in child development and the care of medically complex patients. Fluent in German, French, Spanish, and Serbo-Croatian, he takes pride in connecting with Houston’s diverse international community and providing personalized, culturally sensitive care.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, a neuro-oncologist and native Houstonian, and their three children. He is an avid traveler and skier, often combining his love for family adventures with opportunities to hit the slopes.
Dr. Dean Nasser is a Board-Certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician who has joined the PureLife MD team to provide exceptional adult medical care. With a deep understanding of the importance of prevention, Dr. Dean is dedicated to helping patients live their best lives today and in the future. His approach emphasizes preventive, personalized care, focusing on nutrition, weight management, hormone optimization, and overall wellness.
Dr. Dean earned his BA in Economics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, before deciding to follow in his physician father’s footsteps. He completed his premedical studies and earned his MD at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and went on to complete a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Tulane University in New Orleans.
For 17 years, Dr. Dean served as the medical director of the ICU at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, while also maintaining privileges at several prominent medical institutions in Houston. Before joining PureLife MD, he worked as an associate physician at Texas Chest and Sleep Disorders.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Dean enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Dr. Alana Kennedy-Nasser, and their four children. He sees patients exclusively at the River Oaks office, where he is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care to help them live healthier, fuller lives.
Dr. Sara Curtis is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with a deep passion for preventive healthcare, nutrition education, and supporting families in every stage of their journey. She is committed to providing true well-child care, focusing on the whole child as they grow, develop, and thrive. Dr. Sara has a special interest in supporting breastfeeding mothers, improving access to mental healthcare, and partnering with families to address complex medical needs and mental health concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
Originally from North Dallas, Dr. Sara earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University. She then moved to Houston, where she earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine / Texas Children’s Hospital.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Sara is a devoted wife and mom to two young daughters. She loves cooking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her family. Whether wandering the hike and bike trails or visiting parks in the Heights, Dr. Sara cherishes spending quality time with her husband and daughters. She is also actively involved in her church, Neartown Church. Proficient in Spanish, Dr. Sara enjoys connecting with families from diverse backgrounds to provide personalized and compassionate care.
Dr. Sam is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with a strong commitment to empowering families and providing personalized, proactive care. Originally from the Northeast, she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Medical Degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Sam completed her Pediatrics Residency at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she cultivated her expertise in pediatric care.
Following her residency, Dr. Sam worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist affiliated with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and later served as an Assistant Professor at Texas Children’s Hospital, specializing as a newborn hospitalist. Dr. Sam is a certified lactation consultant and is working towards her board certification in Breastfeeding Medicine. She is passionate about supporting mothers in achieving their feeding goals and easing the transition into parenthood. She understands the unique challenges families face in the early months of life and is dedicated to providing compassionate and tailored care to help her patients thrive.
Outside of work, Dr. Sam enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring Houston’s vibrant culinary scene, and traveling with her family. She and her husband, Ajai, a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, have two school-aged children and have called Houston home for over a decade.
Dr. Paige, a proud Houstonian, brings her heartfelt dedication to personalized care at PurePediatrics. After earning her degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, followed by a pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine.
As a board-certified pediatrician and member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Garrison loves working with kids of all ages. Her joy in each stage of child development is evident in her warm and compassionate approach to care.
Fueled by a genuine desire to make a difference, Dr. Garrison’s journey into medicine is all about helping others and creating meaningful connections with her patients and their families.
When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Garrison enjoying quality time with her husband, Taylor, and their daughter. She’s a fan of staying active, traveling, family movie nights, and diving into Houston’s vibrant food scene.

Melisa Landry is an experienced pediatric nurse practitioner born and raised in Texas. She earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. With over a decade of experience at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, she has developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in caring for chronically ill patients. Her time in this role allowed her to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families, providing compassionate care during some of their most challenging times.
Most recently, Melisa served as the Director of Health Services at The Kinkaid School, where she honed her leadership and management skills. Ensuring the health of everyone on campus, she also prioritized disease prevention, health promotion, and education within the student community. She believes that a positive outlook can significantly impact health outcomes, and she strives to ensure that every individual feels their best so they can live their best life.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Melisa enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three active children. She enjoys watching her kids play sports and prioritizes exercise in her life, recognizing the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
